Setting the Scene

"Imagine, you're yearning for an adventurous solo trip to Ladakh. You're excited, but overwhelmed. Countless websites, blogs, and forums bombard you with information. You struggle to find reliable data, compare prices, and plan an itinerary that aligns with your budget and interests. Time flies by, and your dream trip seems further away than ever."

Exploring Existing Insights

In this project, I conducted desk research through research papers, articles, and blogs, along with competitive analysis to gain deeper insights into the users.

Learning from What’s Out There

Solo Travel Safety Lacking – Limited or no access to detailed safety insights for travelers.

Limited Personalization – Few platforms provide tailored travel recommendations.

Hostel-Focused Accommodation – Zostel dominates in budget stays, while others lack strong lodging options.

Real Voices, Real Experiences

During the 11 interview, I asked deep questions that helped a lot to understand their problem and need to create a user-friendly application.

Anjali

"Traveling solo feels overwhelming with so much information online—sometimes I don't even know where to start!

Chintan

""Being alone can get lonely, and not knowing the local language or customs makes it even harder to connect with people.

Ronak

""I’ve ended up in overpriced tourist traps because I didn’t have enough local knowledge or good food recommendations.

For this project, I carried out a survey where I got 88 responses, which offered meaningful insights and enhanced my understanding of the issue.

Learnings

  • Conducting in-depth interviews revealed the depth of solo travelers' experiences. Hearing personal stories gave me a deeper understanding of their pain points and motivations.

  • I learned that iteration is key—what works in theory might not always work in practice.

  • Empathy shaped every step of the design process to truly meet user needs.
